Riyadh — MHRSD announced its decision to localize specific jobs and professional categories in cooperation with the supervisory entities.

Riyadh — Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced its decision to localize specific jobs and professional categories in cooperation with the supervisory entities.

In its statement, the ministry announced that the localized professions include licensed aviation, optics, customer service, regular inspection activities, postal and parcel delivery outlets, and outlets for another seven business activities across the Kingdom.

The move will provide Saudi nationals with over 33,000 jobs. Thus, increasing Saudi share in the job market and their contribution to the economy.

MHRSD’s decision to localize licensed aviation will be split into two phases. The decision calls for 100% Saudization of the copilot, air controller, and dispatcher professions from March 15, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Saudization of transport pilots and air hostesses will be 60% and 50% Saudized, respectively.

The second phase will begin on March 4, 2024, with the 70% Saudization of transport pilots and air the host professions by 60%.

The decision is applicable to all private companies with five or more employees of the said professions.

The targeted professionals will require professional accreditation from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). This decision will provide more than 4,000 jobs for citizens.

Additionally, HRSD has decided to Saudize the optics professions by 50% by March 18, 2023. All private Saudi Arabian establishments with four or more employees must comply with the above.

The targeted jobs are medical optics technician, physics laboratory technician, and light and optics technician.

All workers in the Saudized professions should obtain professional accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

In addition, the minimum wage for the target professions is SR5,500. The decision will provide more than 1,000 job opportunities in this sector across the Kingdom.

The ministry also decided to Saudize the vehicle’s regular technical inspection outlets in two phases. During the first phase, 50% of occupations will be Saudized, while the second phase aims to Saudize 100% of the professions.

The most prominent localized professions are site manager, assistant manager, quality manager, financial supervisor, site supervisor, lane leader, inspection technician, assistant inspection technician, maintenance technician, information technician, and data entry specialist.

This move will provide over 5,000 job opportunities for Saudi citizens. The implementation process will begin 12 months after the decision date.

Moreover, the postal and parcel delivery services outlets, which have 14 sub-activities of postal and parcel delivery services, will be localized as of December 17, 2022.

The CEO jobs will be 100% localized. The first and second levels of top management jobs will be 60% and 70% localized, respectively.

The decision will provide more than 7,000 jobs in this sector across the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the customer service professions will be 100% Saudized for the establishments that provide customer services as a core, support the activity, or outsource.

The decision will apply from December 17, 2022, and will create over 4,000 jobs.

According to the decisions, the sales outlets of seven business activities will be 70% Saudized. These included security and equipment safety, elevators, escalators, and conveyors.

Included as well are artificial grass and swimming pools; water purification and navigation equipment; catering devices and electric trucks; shooting weapons, airsoft guns, and picnic supplies; and packaging equipment and tools.

Saudized professions in these activities cover branch manager, supervisor, treasurer, customer accountant, and customer services agent jobs.

The decision will provide more than 12,000 jobs and take effect 12 months from the date of issuance.

The ministry has issued detailed guidelines for employers and organizations.
