Experience and Food Review

For our primo, we began with the inescapable Italian classic minestrone. It was ‘Perfecto”.

Our recommendations:

  • Saffron risotto with asparagus and truffle made in a parmesan wheel.
  • Veal Osso Bucco.
  • Grilled seabass fillet with cherry tomato salsa.
  • Spinach lasagne.

The restaurant’s recommended highlight for Habburg’s Italian night is a slow-cooked succulent tender lamb leg paired with mustard, thyme jus, warm eggplant mousse, and roasted potatoes.

Every morsel of the feast is a testament to Chef Zulhadi’s passion for his craft and the freshest produce used to create it.

Sweet ending; Desert

The sweet ending to the lovely evening is the extensive choice and range of exotic ice creams and gelato served with fresh, made-to-order waffles and crepes.

Seafood Review

It would have been impossible to try everything on offer; however, we did make a valiant attempt. Here are our reviews of some of the Habsburg cuisine we attempted.

Tuna Salad

Perfect, the tuna beaten in with mayonnaise with tiny veggie slices was a great start to the buffet.

Mixed seafood salad

The cold salad included calamari, shrimp, and celery. We dressed it with lemon juice and olive oil. However, it did need a bit of spice and herbs.

Mixed Seafood Soup

The soup explodes with flavor in your mouth. You can feel the ginger and the cumin work their magic as they tingle your palette. The seafood added to the broth is tender and full of flavor.

Squid in Oyster Sauce

Mushy squids steeped in oyster sauce are delicious. The soft zesty oysters slide across your palette, leaving you wanting more.

Hamour and Sayadiyah Rice

This dish does not carry many culinary twists, but it sure tastes good. A straightforward classical platter that relies on the tender white flesh of the Hamour and Sayadiyah rice, cooked to perfection with a hint of cinnamon.

The Grill

  • Grilled shrimps: The smokey shrimps with an orange hue were soft and came apart to the touch.
  • Grilled Salmon: The mushroom-adorned grilled salmon was moist and juicy. I give a thumbs up to it.
  • Grilled Lobster: The flesh was slightly tough to cut into but had a barbeque-y core.

Dessert

Impressive and abundant. We picked the Red Grape and Blueberry mini tarts. The crust was the exact balance of chewiness and crispiness. The buttercup honey custard was as pretty as it was a delight to taste.
