RIYADH– Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef said Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector focuses more on the adoption of technology and innovation.
Addressing the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMAIS) at Expo 2020 in Dubai, the minister said that the launch of the NEOM Industrial City OXAGON represented a massive transition for the Kingdom’s industrial sectors. Especially the transformation of energy sources to clean and renewable energy to achieve the objectives of the Green Saudi; and the Green Middle East initiatives.
“The efforts of Saudi Arabia during the coronavirus pandemic period showed its high capability in dealing with the crisis; as its concern is for people’s health and safety. In addition, supporting the economy and business was also among its priorities,” he said.

Alkhorayef affirmed that the Kingdom’s advanced systems and pumping of investments in the telecommunications infrastructure since Vision 2030 had contributed significantly to overcoming the pandemic. The minister emphasized that infrastructure readiness is considered an important matter to ensure and provide for dealing with the growth and changes.
“The infrastructure readiness will also facilitate dealing with automation; new business models based on modern technology, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution applications. In addition, these initiatives will create job opportunities for citizens; as human capacity building is the only way to ensure the continuity of business sustainability,” he said.
The Kingdom’s industrial system under Vision 2030; aims to help investors in industry to achieve their goals and avail opportunities, added Alkhorayef.
