According to a report issued in Riyadh on Friday, Riyadh: The Saudi Green Initiative has affirmed the Kingdom’s pioneering role to bring about a qualitative shift internally and regionally toward climate change.
The report highlighting the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) forum will be presented in Riyadh next Saturday.
The forum is purposed to achieve sustainability in the Kingdom. increase reliance on clean energy and reduce carbon emissions, and combat climate change.

Since its launch of Vision 2030, the Kingdom has made practical efforts to improve the environment and mitigate the effects of climatic change.
It envisions planting 10 billion trees in the Kingdom over the next two decades. As part of a broader Middle Eastern effort to plant 50 billion trees in the region.
The Kingdom has made great efforts at combating climate change. The crisis with several renewable energy projects to reduce carbon emissions by more than 4% of the global contribution.
By 2030, 50% of Saudi electricity production will be through renewable energy projects.
An additional $7 billion will be invested annually in solutions that reduce carbon emissions by the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCL). Saudi Aramco is a founding member.
Also, the addition of the 9,900 km of railway tracks will reduce carbon emissions from vehicles.
Reforestation is the cornerstone of the Saudi Green Initiative; it will contribute to better air quality, reduce sand storms, combat desertification, and lower the temperatures in adjoining areas. As a result, 10 billion trees will rehabilitate 40 million hectares of land in the coming decade.
The Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum will highlight the Kingdom’s efforts to protect the environment. The presence of world leaders from various fields of society will lead the forum to take significant measures and launch innovative solutions that contribute to combating climate change.
