Riyadh — New COVID-19 cases remained below the 100-mark for the eighth consecutive day on Saturday, with only 68 new infections reported over the past 24 hours. The continuing slide during the past five weeks has seen figures drop from the 500-mark
Additionally, the Ministry of Health’s statistics has declared five more deaths due to complications related to the virus during the past 24 hours.
The ministry details the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom as 546,479 and total virus-related fatalities as 8,656.
According to the ministry, a total of 77 recoveries from the Covid-19 virus were reported for the past 24 hours. These latest recoveries bring the total number of people freed from the deadly virus to 535,450.
As per the latest figures from the Saudi ministry of health, the region of Makkah has recorded the highest number of new cases with 20, followed by the region of Riyadh with 17.
The remaining cases were detected in different regions of the Kingdom, with 10 of them reporting less than ten infections.
According to the ministry, there were 2,373 active cases; of these, 361 were reported to be in critical condition
