Riyadh — Saudi Arabia will do free of cost extension of the validity of iqamas (residency permits), exit and re-entry visas. Along with the visit visas of expatriates currently stranded in the countries facing a travel ban. These Iqams will be extended until Sept. 30, 2021. As reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday, citing a royal order, the news comes as a relief and a breath of fresh air for people facing hardship due to the Covid-19 restrictions on travel.
The finance minister granted the free extension of the validity period of iqamas and visas at the direction given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman. This generous grant of the extension during these times of the pandemic is a part of the continuous efforts conducted by the government. To assure the safety of citizens and residents and alleviate its economic and financial impacts on them.
According to the SPA, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has confirmed that all visa/Iqama extensions will be made automatically in partnership with the National Information Center. Therefore, no one will be required to obtain their extensions physically.
