Brief History
The state began three centuries ago by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud. He founded the first Saudi State in 1139H (early 1727) and continued until 1233H (1818).
Diriyah was its capital and the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) its constitution; and which provided unity and security in the Arabian Peninsula following centuries; of fragmentation, discord, and instability, and survived attempts of elimination.”
Founded in Diriyah in 1727, #SaudiArabia's narrative has always been rooted in peace, unity and stability; principles that guided our past, present and today guide our future.

Seven years after the first Saudi State in 1240H (1824); Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Saud successfully established the Second Saudi State, which lasted until 1309H (1891).
The third Saudi state was established in 1319H (1902) by King Abdul Aziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Faisal Al Saud; who united it as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Later, the King’s sons following in his footsteps reinforced the building and unity of this country,” King Salman said.
Preparations for Saudi Arabia’s first Founding Day are everywhere as Saudis look forward to three days of celebrations that begin on Tuesday. The three days of festivities will end with concerts, and spectacular sky shows all over the Kingdom.
