Buenos Aires — The Saudi embassy in Argentina has expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the assassination attempt on Argentina Vice President Cristina Kirchner’s life.

Saudi Arabia reiterated it stands with Argentina and its people in the face of all threats to its security and stability. Saudi Arabia supports Argentine efforts to eliminate violence, extremism, and terrorism in its territories.

The Kingdom wished safety, stability, and prosperity for the Argentine Republic and its friendly people.

On Friday, Argentina’s Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner escaped unharmed after a man fired a loaded gun at her. The gun failed to go off inches from her head.

The economy minister described the attack as an assassination attempt. The incident comes during acute political and social frictions inside Argentina.

The incident occurred as Fernandez de Kirchner stepped out of a car outside her Buenos Aires home; video footage showed a man pointing a pistol at her head.
