Riyadh — The Presidency of State Security reiterated that KS-Relief is the only body authorized to deliver donations abroad from Saudi Arabia. KS-Relief is the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The Presidency of State Security made the statement via its official Twitter account. The Presidency warned everyone to refrain from communicating or donating through unknown groups.
The State Security statement emphasized that people who wish to donate outside Saudi Arabia should donate only through the authorized body (KS-Relief. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center will provide help to the needy outside the Kingdom.
The statement warned people against participating in any message chains. The Presidency also stopped people from responding to or circulating invitations from anonymous groups.
Especially the groups that collect funds and donations to distribute as charities outside the Kingdom.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution banned websites that collect donations to finance terrorist organizations. These organizations disguise themselves as charitable organizations working outside Saudi Arabia. Any assistance to such charities is banned.
Everyone caught committing the cybercrime of creating websites for terrorist organizations to finance these organizations will be punished.
The Public Prosecution affirmed the punishment for this cybercrime includes imprisonment of up to 10 years and an additional fine of SR5 million.
