Riyadh — New COVID-19 cases have dropped below the 150-mark for the first time on Saturday, with 138 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours after continuing to slide in the last four weeks from the 500-mark.
According to an official statement given by the Ministry of Health, seven more people have died from complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.
These new Coronavirus deaths bring the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 545,123 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,572.

According to the ministry, a total of 211 people recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours. This recovery figure brings the total number of people recovered from the deadly virus to 533,843.
Riyadh region has reported the most number of new cases, 43; the Makkah region followed it with 25, the Eastern region with 14, and the Madinah region with ten infections.
Various other regions of the Saudi Kingdom have accounted for the balance number of cases, with eight reporting less than ten infections.
According to the ministry, there were 2,708 active cases, and 750 of these cases were in critical condition.
