The Civil Aviation Authority in Saudi Arabia has issued instructions to all airlines operating at the Kingdom’s airports to update their entry mechanism and procedures for arrivals to the Kingdom to help reduce the quarantine period.
These updates are as follows:
1) A Five-day institutional quarantine procedure applies to a person who has received only a single dose of a Saudi-approved vaccine. The traveler is required to submit a negative (PCR) examination taken 72 hours before his arrival in the Kingdom, the person will be required to observe a five-day institutional quarantine procedure, and a corona examination is conducted within 24 hours of arrival. Lastly, a final Coronavirus test will end the institutional quarantine with a negative test result on the fifth day of arrival. All new arrivals must adhere to the appointments of their corona examination as advised by the “Tawakkalna” app.
2) All arrivals vaccinated by any vaccine not approved by the World Health Organization or Saudi Arabia must provide a negative PCR test report within the previous 72 hours of arrival in The Kingdom. All institutional quarantine procedures, as applicable in point 1, are also applicable in this case.
The Civil Aviation Authority added that travelers accompanying their relatives who are immune would be dealt with according to the following procedure:
1) Non-vaccinated companions under eighteen of age will be home quarantined for five days.
2) Institutional quarantine procedures will be enforced for accompanying arrivals aged eighteen years or older.
All above quarantine requirements will be effective as of Thursday, 9/23, 2021 AD, at noon.
Additionally, the new arrival must complete the vaccination as available in the Kingdom at the end of the quarantine period. Furthermore, people vaccinated by the Sinopharma or the Sinovac vaccine have to obtain a booster dose of the vaccines available in the Kingdom.
Travelers are required to compulsorily register on the “Doom” platform before arriving in the Kingdom.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation Saudi Arabia stressed that it is forbidden to enter public places, activities, events, or use public transportation without complete immunization within the Kingdom.
