WASHINGTON — Veteran actor Alec Baldwin, producer, and star in a Western movie, killed (prop gun) his director of photography and injured the film’s director at a film set outside Santa Fe.
Hutchins, 42, was pronounced dead at the University of New Mexico Hospital.

Souza, 48, is undergoing treatment for his injuries at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. As a result, production has been halted on the film.
A spokesperson for Baldwin s there was an accident on the set involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.
Police responded to a 911 call from the movie set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, reporting a person was shot on the set. Sheriff’s spokesman Juan Rios said detectives were investigating how and to the type of projectile discharged.
This investigation remains open and active, and no charges have been filed concerning this incident. Witnesses continue to be interviewed by detectives.”
According to a news release from the New Mexico Film Office. Filming for Rust was set to continue into early November.
