Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s capital city is all geared up with its grand preparations for the second edition of Riyadh Season, which begins on Oct. 20. The season sloganed “Imagine More” has 14 entertainment zones spread over 5.4 million square meters.
Turki Al-Sheikh, advisor and chairman of the Board of Directors of GEA, posted a 5-minute video on his Twitter account detailing the incredible surprises of the season, many of which are taking place for the first time in the Kingdom.
He said there would be over 7,500 activities, 500 electronic games, four theaters, nine international studios, the world’s first and largest mobile sky loop, over 200 restaurants, cafes, and stores: an international arena, a 3-km walkway, golf course, and 12 paddle tennis courts.
The visitors will be able to experience the thrill of riding war tanks, fighting in five different eras, and shooting live ammunition at 15 interactive shooting ranges.
Riyadh season will also offer a tremendous tree experience, a designated space to interact with pets, safari trips, and the Riyadh Games Festival. The festival will also have electronic games, an exhibition of perfumes, jewelry, cars, and many artistic and musical performances.
The video also mentions poetry evenings and a special poetry exhibition, and performances of dialogue poetry.
Seven international restaurants and three international cafes will cater to the daily visitors to the event. In addition, an international hotel with 100 rooms, a seven-screen luxury cinema, and 23 stores of the finest global brands too will be available to the visitors.
Ticket prices to events and activities are very affordable, with four free-entry entertainment zones out of the total 14 zones.
The Riyadh Season 2021 will also see the participation of the star-studded French club Paris Saint-Germain with its international soccer superstars — Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Brazilian Neymar, and French Kylian Mbappe participating in an exhibition match between PSG and an all-star team of Al-Hilal SFC and Al-Nassr FC.
The Riyadh Season has something for everyone.
