Riyadh – The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announced its 22nd Global Summit’s venue as Riyadh at the end of next.
The Summit is considered the world’s leading travel and tourism event. Its occurrence in Saudi Arabia reflects the Kingdoms’ ability to redesign and prioritize tourism in Saudi Arabia.
New research shows Middle East tourism is growing faster than tourism in Europe and Latin America and is set to grow over 27 percent by the end of this year.
Minister for Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb welcomed the decision to choose Saudi Arabia as the host country and said; “This is recognition of Saudi leadership to help the global tourist sector recover, and importantly, become more sustainable.”
Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, WTTC CEO & President, Julia Simpson said; “Since its start, when the pandemic brought international travel to an almost complete standstill. Saudi Arabia has shown its total commitment to our sector. Assuring it has remained at the lead of the global agenda.”
“It has been instrumental in driving the recovery of a sector which is crucial to economies, jobs, and livelihoods around the world.”
