Riyadh — Saudi Arabia celebrated the seventh anniversary of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; King Salman’s ascension to the throne on Monday — November 8, 2021 (Rabi Al-Akher 3, 1443).
The citizens, and the expatriates, rejoice in their Kingdom’s wise leadership of their Monarch; enjoying a hard-won victory over the coronavirus pandemic with life returning to normalcy.
King Salman has strived to achieve the welfare and prosperity of Saudi citizens through massive development programs throughout the Kingdom. In turn, the citizens have reciprocated with love and loyalty as they rally behind his leadership.

Ever since King Salman took over the reins of the Kingdom; Saudia has witnessed noble accomplishments characterized by comprehensive, integrated development and nation-building. Hence the Kingdom’s high position among the world’s advanced countries. Saudi Arabia played a pivotal role in leading the international response to the Coronavirus pandemic during its G20 presidency last year.
The Kingdom supported the global efforts against the pandemic with $500 million support; and an additional $300 million in assistance for the countries’ efforts to combat the pandemic, reaffirming that it is the” Kingdom of Humanity.”
Succeeding the Late King Abdullah, King Salman ascended the throne on January 23, 2015; he was the crown prince and deputy premier for two and half years at the time. Earlier, Salman was appointed minister of defense on November 5, 2011, preceded by his role as the Emir of Riyadh Region for more than 50 years.
He assumed the post of the emir of Riyadh region on April 18, 1955. And during the five decades of his reign, he oversaw the region’s transformation from a medium-sized town with a population of 200,000 to one of the fastest-growing capitals in the Arab world, with a population of seven million.
