NEOM — NEOM is to have a bespoke public eVTOL mobility system. Volocopter, and the smart and sustainable regional development in northwest Saudi Arabia; have established a joint venture company to design, implement; and operate a bespoke and the world’s first public vertical mobility system in NEOM.
Air taxis, and vertical logistics services, a pioneer of urban air mobility; will provide a zero-emission public transit system for NEOM. The JV company will operate all of the initial public transit routes in NEOM. eVTOL, the electric Vertical Take-Off, and Landing ecosystem will include tourism, emergency response, and logistics.
NEOM has already confirmed orders for 15 Volocopters that will commence operations around the end of 2023. The NEOM and Volocopter collaboration will lead to an advanced three-dimensional public transportation system operating across NEOM.
