Riyadh — Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Saudi Arabia’s World Defense Show will open its first-ever edition Sunday. The show will have 30,000 visitors through its four-day run from March 6-9, 2022.
Founded by GAMI, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries; the World Defense Show, is set to be held every two years.
It will accelerate the development of the industry by showcasing the latest technological developments from around the globe. It will demonstrate defense interoperability across all major domains of land, sea, air, space, and security systems.
Across the four trade days, high-level delegations from dozens of countries will visit stands and pavilions; featuring products and demonstrations from hundreds of global and local exhibitors.
Governor of GAMI Ahmad Al-Ohali said: “March 6 is an essential milestone in the Kingdom’s efforts to localize 50% of its military expenditure by 2030.
“We have seen an overwhelming global interest for the first edition of World Defense Show. And we look forward to creating a conducive environment for cross-border partnerships and networking to drive industry innovation.”

Spread across an 800,000 sqm site, the Defense Show features outdoor exhibit spaces three large exhibition halls. A purpose-built 3KM-long runway with room for stationery aircraft and a dedicated interoperability demonstration area.

A 20-minute show screened six times every day, featuring an interactive and immersive Command & Control Center simulating the future of interoperability at its best.
The show’s dedicated Start-Up Zone will host the latest technologies developed by small and medium companies worldwide. The zone will host and introduce SME products to investors, venture capital firms, and industry decision-makers.
Panel discussions and keynote presentations will give the audience daily insights into the technologies exhibited at World Defense Show. Key Saudi entities will conduct sessions of insights in to Saudi Arabia’s defense industry transformation.
On International Women’s Day, March 8, the full-day event will feature interactive panel discussions; and keynote presentations discussions to advocate and connect with diversity in today’s defense community.
5,000 STEM students from the Kingdom’s best institutions are invited on the show’s final day as part of the Future Talent Program.
The program connects participants to opportunities in the defense and security sectors.
