Saudi Arabia’s first foreign scholarship program for space sciences announced

The scholarship program will cover study costs and financial guarantees, health insurance, and travel tickets from the Kingdom to the country of the student's university.

RIYADH — The Saudi Space Commission announced on Wednesday the launch of the first Saudi Foreign Scholarship Program. The receipt of applications for the Space Scholarship program will begin from July 25.

This program provides quality educational opportunities in the study of space sciences for Saudi male and female students to study at the designated 30 prestigious universities worldwide. 

Dr. Muhammad Al-Tamimi, the acting CEO of the commission, emphasized the commission’s ambitious plans to help the Kingdom accomplish global leadership in space sciences and realize the Kingdom’s aspirations in the sector that enjoys the support of the wise leadership.

Al-Tamimi also drew attention to the commission’s efforts to achieve global leadership in space sciences, including investing in developing human capital and competencies by ensuring the availability of qualified national cadets. These cadets will be the launching pad of the space sector in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Al-Tamimi added that the first phase of the scholarship program would include bachelor’s and master’s degrees in multiple disciplines of space study, including space sciences, aerospace engineering, and space policies.

The scholarship program will cover study costs and financial guarantees, health insurance, and travel tickets from the Kingdom to the country of the student’s university.
