Austrian police reported the accident in St. Johann in Tyrol, where a Saudi citizen and his child died when a train crashed into his car on Wednesday.
Jeddah — In a horrific accident in Austria, a Saudi citizen died after he saved his two children and wife from a train crash on Wednesday.
The citizen’s 4-year-old son also died in the train collision with his car. The car got stuck on the track at the railway crossing.
The horrible incident occurred at Eiger Crossing in the city of St. Johann in Tyrol in the Austrian district of Kitzbühel.
The train was heading from Kitzbühel to St. Johann. Muhammad Al-Sharif, a Saudi relative of the deceased citizen, first revealed the tragic news.
His Twitter account said,
“God, one of my relatives and his four-year-old son died in an unfortunate accident in Austria…… the father succeeded in getting his wife and two children out, then returned to get the child out, and upon his return to take out his 4-year-old child, who was on the baby seat inside the vehicle, the train collided with the vehicle.”

According to media reports, the 35-year-old citizen was on vacation with his family in Austria. The Austrian police announced the death of the citizen and the child who sustained critical injuries in the accident.
The young child died soon after reaching the hospital in St. Johann. The medical team’s efforts also failed to save the citizen’s life.
The father succumbed to his injuries a little later. His 34-year-old wife and two other children, aged 7 and 11, escaped unhurt in the crash.
