Saudi Deputy Defense Minister and Yemeni PM Meet, Welcome UN Truce

Prince Khalid, Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense, met Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed & members of Yemeni Cabinet on Sunday.

Riyadh — Prince Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense, met the Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed on Sunday. The members of the Yemeni Cabinet attended the meeting.

The Saudi Deputy Defense Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown to the Yemeni President. He also gave the Royal good wishes for Yemen and its people’s security, peace, and stability.

The Yemeni Prime Minister offered his greetings and the greetings of the Yemeni President to the Saudi leadership.

Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled, reaffirmed the Arab Coalition’s resolve to establish security, peace, and stability in Yemen during the meeting. The Kingdom has welcomed the announcement by UN Special Envoy to Yemen for a truce.

A ceasefire of all military operations in Yemen and along the Saudi-Yemeni borders. This UN announcement is in line with the Saudi initiative of March 2021. A comprehensive political solution to end the Yemeni crisis.

He said: “Saudi Arabia is hopeful that the truce will contribute to the political efforts and reach a political settlement via the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations held under the Gulf Cooperation Council auspices.”

For his part, the Yemeni Prime Minister and the members of the Yemeni Cabinet valued the continuous support provided by Saudi Arabia for the Yemeni people and its permanent commitment to support the government’s efforts and the sovereignty, security, and stability of Yemen.

He added that the Yemeni government counts on the support of the Kingdom, the GCC donors, and the international community.

This brotherly support provides economic stability in Yemen that alleviates the suffering of the people of Yemen.

Dr. Maeen asserted that the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations under the GCC umbrella are a glimmer of hope for the Yemeni people.
