Riyadh — A historic moment for the Kingdom’s women empowerment reforms and initiatives, as the first batch of women soldiers from the Women’s Cadre Training Center of the Armed Forces, graduated from the inaugural course.
The Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, honored the graduation ceremony with his presence at the completion of the 14-week basic individual course.
Chief Sgt. Hadi Al-Anezi, assistant commander of the training center, administered the oath to the graduates. Following this was the announcement of graduates with outstanding performance and their prizes.
At the close of the ceremony, Gen. Al-Ruwaili thanked the outstanding work of both the male and female staff at the center in fulfilling the center’s great mission.
Saudi Arabia’s opening of its Armed Force to women has been noteworthy and commendable of the wise leadership and vision of the Kingdom.
Currently, military ranks of a soldier to sergeant are available for women in the Saudi Arabia Army. These ranks are also open to women at the Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Strategic, Armed Forces Medical Services, and the Missile Force. Applications from Saudi women between the ages of 21 and 40 are accepted for these posts.
