Riyadh — The Transport General Authority (TGA) unveiled a project to link 200 cities and governorates across the Kingdom through 76 routes on Wednesday.
While working on the intercity bus transport franchise project, TGA studied the feasibility of opening the domestic bus transportation market to private enterprises.

TGA issued a bus service tender for the project linking. The bus service tender will improve the competition in the sector and offer appealing opportunities for private sector investors.

The project is also expected to improve the quality of services provided and create healthy competition among operators.
The project design envisions transporting over 6 million passengers annually, with more than 300 bus stops on 76 routes.
The routes planned for the project linking move through 200 cities in different governorates and well serviced by over 560 buses driving over 150 million kilometers annually.
