U.S. Embassy in Riyadh: Houthi Attacks Prolong Sufferings of The Yemeni People

Riyadh – The U.S. Embassy, in its statement, confirmed on Saturday that the Houthi attacks would perpetuate the conflict, prolonging the sufferings of the Yemeni people.

The statement from the U.S. Embassy came after the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia on Friday. The embassy strongly condemned the horrific onslaught of the projectile launched by the militias that hit Jazan; a southern Saudi city that resulted in the killing of a Saudi citizen and a Yemeni resident.

The military projectile fell on a retail store on the main street, resulting in two deaths; and seven civilians injured, including six citizens and a Bangladeshi resident. The embassy also offered its sincere condolences to the grieving families of the deceased; wishing all those injured in the attack a speedy recovery.

Furthermore, the U.S. Embassy statement confirms that the Houthi attacks perpetuate the conflict, prolonging the suffering of the Yemeni people; and endangering the lives of the Saudis and the lives of over 70,000 American citizens living in the Kingdom.

Additionally, the embassy reiterated its call to the Houthis to end these reckless attacks on Saudi Arabia; and engage with the United Nations-led peace efforts to end the conflict and ensure peace and security for the Yemeni people.
