Riyadh – On Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Public Health Authority, Weqaya, announced the updated health protocols for commercial centers, markets (souks), malls, restaurants, and cafes.
Weqaya stressed observing social distancing measures when receiving orders and waiting areas of customers; maintaining one and a half meters distance between individuals.
Members of the same family are considered a single unit and do not require social distancing. The authority also permitted dine-in at restaurants.

According to the updated protocols, customers will scan their barcode through the Tawakkalna application; to verify their immunization status when entering the premises of any vendor.
Only individuals with complete the vaccination status on the app will be permitted entry to restaurants, retailers, etc.
The employees of the facilities are responsible for verifying the immunization status of consumers.
Weqaya said that the working hours in markets, commercial centers, and malls; would be according to the regulations in force before the coronavirus outbreak unless announced to the contrary. The authority revealed that more details about the updated protocols are available on its website.
It also instructed that shisha shops are not allowed to operate indoors but only outdoors.
