Pelé, the sensational soccer player, passed away on December 29, 2022. His death was confirmed through an Instagram post made on his official account.

The post’s caption read, “Inspiration and love marked the journey of King Pelé, who peacefully passed away today.” 

The Brazilian player was undoubtedly one of the greatest players that soccer has seen. He scored 1,283 goals in 1,363 matches. These included 77 goals in 92 matches he scored for his own country.

Pelé died due to multiple organ failure due to colon cancer which he had been battling for a long time. The world mourns the loss of a great player; his legacy will forever live on.
