Jeddah: Saudi tennis sensation Yara Al-Haqbani has reached the Nairobi International Tennis Championship quarter-finals after beating her Israeli rival Reni Nikishov in straight sets.
Al-Haqbani proved her brilliance in the international arena by winning against Kenya’s Alicia Oigi in the first round. She defeated Romanian Maya Visan 6-0, 6-2 in the second round for a two sets to none victory to continue her winning streak.

She will face British player Jady Cole in the quarter-finals. Al-Haqbani is ranked 767th globally according to the professional tennis players ranking, despite her young age.
Born in 2004, Al-Haqbani turned professional player at an early age and represented Saudi Arabia in various world championships. Yara recently played in the Dubai International Championships, where she lost to the Russian Kira Matyoshikina in the second round.

The Saudi tennis star reached the finals of the Fujairah Tennis Championship, where she put up a tough fight before losing to Bulgarian Eva Bosed 3-6, 6-7. The Nairobi Championship 2022 is her best accomplishment so far.
Al-Haqbani is the youngest professional tennis player in the Kingdom and has scored many important victories internationally. The latest of which is the Nairobi International Championship. Additionally, she represented Saudi Arabia in the “Junior” and “Future” WTA and Islamic Solidarity Championships.
