Traveling by air

For the tournament in Doha, Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) is now taking reservations for its shuttle flight service to Qatar.

From November 20 to December 19. Shuttle flights will be available from Riyadh. Jeddah flights last about two hours and cost about SAR 1,577 for a roundtrip ticket.

At the same time, the flight to Dammam takes around an hour and costs SAR 1,037 for a roundtrip. The flight to Riyadh takes one hour and thirty minutes. The complete flight schedules are available at saudia.com.

Visitors must have A World Cup ticket and a Hayya card for visitors visiting Qatar to travel, enter the stadium, and use the country’s free public transportation. Make sure to download the Hayya app to access your card after it gets approved.

Traveling by road

Alternatively, one-day supporters might take a car from the Kingdom to the border with Qatar. The Ministry of Interior recently set forth the conditions allowing non-Qatari automobiles to do so.

You must pre-register your vehicle and leave it at the Abu Samra border. Then you board a bus for the remaining distance. Only 24-hour reservations are permitted, and second-day overstay charges of QAR 1,000 will get assessed.

  1. Hi,
I am a Hayya card holder planning to visit Qatar on 16-18th of November just to explore and attend the events before the tournaments. my trip will be via road and I need some doubts to be cleared before my trip.
If I drive my car and want to park in the Salwa border for 2 days, is it possible?
And is there any transportation available from Salwa border to Abu Samra border (as I believe there is a distance between both Saudi and Qatar borders).
Also is there any issues if I stay for 2 days as I have hotel booking already?.
