Neom has launched its Regreening Initiative in Northwest KSA, will join with National Center for Vegetation Cover & Combating Desertification

Neom — NEOM has launched its Regreening Initiative in northwest Saudi Arabia. NEOM will collaborate with the National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification.

The program will rehabilitate 1.5 million hectares of land with the return of 100 million native trees, shrubs, and grasses by 2030. The initiative will restore the land with greenery and recreate wildlife habitats.

The NEOM announced its Regreening Initiative at Riyadh’s International Exhibition & Forum for Afforestation Technologies.

The event was organized by MEWA and National Center for the Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman established the Middle East and the Saudi Green Initiative under the Saudi Vision 2030.

Both programs focus on developing sustainable vegetation cover. Rehabilitating degraded pastures and conservation parks.

And the Trans-regional greening project of the Middle East Green Initiative.

The Saudi Green Initiative will contribute to building a green economy and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

NEOM’s new initiative will support efforts to protect the environment. It will promote sustainability and contribute to the Saudi Green Initiative to develop natural environments.

Globally ecosystem degradation of the environment has caused unprecedented loss of biodiversity.

Meanwhile, economic progress has elevated carbon emissions, exacerbating climate change and depleting natural capital.

The NEOM Regreening Initiative will regenerate the landscape through innovations required to solve the planet’s environmental challenges.

It is pioneering research partnerships, innovations, and pilot technologies. NEOM has accelerated its efforts to repair the planet for current and future generations.

It is pioneering a transformation partnership between humanity and nature. The city will establish international standard wildlife habitat and dedicate 95% of its land to conservation.
