Australians have been drinking tea for a very long time now and they probably learned the habit from their English counterparts. It’s likely that their grandparents and parents began their day with a fresh pot of tea every single morning and it provided the perfect situation for everyone to sit down at the breakfast table and have a good chat.

Tea has been bringing people together for years and when members of state visit this great country of ours, it’s extremely likely that they will be asked if they would like a hot cup of tea on their arrival.

There are many different teas out there including black tea which is an incredibly popular choice for everyone. We like tea because it is so convenient and in many cases, all you need to do is to buy your tea, brew it teapot, and then pour it into a cup or mug and drink it.

It really doesn’t get any simpler than this but there are some brewing tips that all Australian tea drinkers should know about and so the following are just some of those.

  • Try different water types – Hopefully, you won’t be surprised to learn that not all water is the same and while many reach for the tap in the home to fill up their kettles, some people like to use spring water nowadays. These water companies are not all the same so there are many different types of bottled water out there so play around with some of them and see which one provides you with the best results.
  • Try to figure out the ratios – We all know this but when making tea, you need to figure out how much tea is enough and how much water is too much. Clearly, if you have more tea leaves then you’re going to get a stronger cup of tea but some prefer a weaker taste and so this is why it pays to play around a little to find what it is that you like.
  • Try different water temperatures – Some teas need to be brewed at boiling point while others don’t like high temperatures at all. The common rule is however that if you’re not sure what temperature of water you should use, then always opt for the lower temperature over the higher temperature.
  • It’s all about steeping time – The steep can make or break a cup of tea and you should know that tea contains many beneficial nutrients for your body. In order to get all of these out of the tea in the first place, it makes perfect sense that you would want to let your teeth steep for longer. It pays to play around with the steeping times to find the perfect cup of tea.

Hopefully, these four top tips will help you conjure up the perfect cup of tea every single morning and in the afternoons when you’re at your office.
