Named After the Wife of Our Beloved Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)
This holy mosque is built after Aisha Bint Abu Bakr, the beloved wife of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). The mosque is strategically built at the location where Hazrat Aisha R.A entered into the ihram state while performing Umrah on behalf of Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H).
After Hazrat Aisha (R.A), the tradition of entering the state of ihram from Masjid e Aisha continued and now gains significance in the hearts of pilgrims who specifically perform Umrah on behalf of their loved ones.
Is Masjid Ayesha Miqat?
Yes, Masjid e Ayesha is one of the designated miqats and a short story is behind it. When our beloved Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) was coming for Hajj with His companions, they performed Umrah before Hajj. Hazrat Aisha R.A. could not perform Umrah due to her menstrual cycle.
When she was purified, she expressed her desire to perform Umrah to the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). He then told Aisha R.A. to go to Taneem and enter ihram. She went to Taneem with her brother Abdur-Rehman. Her brother did not perform another umrah as this was special permission granted to Aisha R.A or any other women in same state.
That is why the mosque is called Masjid e Aisha, and Muslims prefer masjid e Aisha as miqat.

The bus stop is a 15-20-minute walk from Haram. To reach Masjid e Aisha from Haram, catch bus number 12 from Terminal One (Jabal al Kaaba). The fare is 4 riyals for one side.
Moreover, you can also board a local bus from Bab e Fahad, as local buses run frequently from this door, or take a cab to reach the mosque in 20 minutes.
