What is Tawakkalna?
Tawakkalna is an attempt by the Saudi government to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. ‘Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority’ developed this app, allowing e-permits for movement during the virus curfews. The app is a complete package with many other COVID-related services available. These include tracking COVID cases, including vaccine information, and getting a permit for Umrah.

Why Should I Use Tawakkalna for Umrah
Mass curfews and vaccinations have shown great success in tackling the current situation. The highly contagious nature of the virus means that social responsibility and national planning have to work together in their strategy. Hence, the Tawakkalna app allows the government and the citizens to combine efforts to keep COVID-19 in check. That is to say, you now need to sign up, log in, and request a permit through Tawakkalna for Umrah.
How to get a permit for Umrah through Tawakkalna
The app permits you to pray in the two holy mosques, visit the prophet’s tomb, and Umrah performance. Firstly, one would need to download the App from Google Play. Secondly, one would need to sign up on the app too. The app would ask for their ‘iqamah’ or the national number for local citizens and the passport number for foreigners.
After you have logged in to the app, you will need to look for the services button. This button will take you to the Umrah and Hajj services, including the issue permits menu. The menu provides different features and permits related to Hajj and Umrah. Now, you will select the ‘performing Umrah’ option.
If anyone is doing the Umrah with you, you need to specify that through ‘add companion.’
Lastly, you will have to select the time when you will be performing the Umrah. Once you choose the month, the app will show you available slots. This concludes the permit process.
Eligibility Criteria for Permit
The app also does a wellness test for symptoms of the corona. It does so for the safety of others worshipping. On top of that, it has 3 basic requirements which are:
-> The person must have had both doses of the vaccine
-> Those that have had a single dose must have had it in the last 14 days
-> should have contracted and recovered from the virus in the previous 6 months
