SportsHas Ronaldo Become a Burden on Al-Nassr? Coach Pioli Weighs In

Is Cristiano Ronaldo becoming a burden on Al-Nassr? Following recent comments from Stefano Pioli, the Saudi club’s head coach, questions have arisen regarding the Portuguese star’s recent form.

Pioli, the Italian coach of Al-Nassr, discussed the team’s recent 1-0 victory, credited to Senegalese star Sadio Mané, over Al-Riyadh in the 10th round of the Saudi Pro League. He stated, “Every game has its own circumstances; Al-Riyadh played defensively, unlike Al Ain, who played an attacking game, which created more space.”

He added, “It was a tough game, but I’m satisfied with all the players’ performances. We could have won by a bigger margin, but we missed some key opportunities. The team also suffered from fatigue, having played seven matches in 21 days.”

Addressing Ronaldo’s recent form and lack of goals for the third consecutive match, Pioli commented, “Ronaldo is a great player, and I am very pleased with his contributions to the team. He’s doing an amazing job, and I’m happy with his performance, even if he hasn’t scored. We have a solid team of players capable of making a difference and scoring.”

Pioli concluded by emphasizing his satisfaction with the team’s overall performance, highlighting the contribution of multiple players to recent victories. He said, “The team isn’t just about 11 players. We have a large group, and rotation is necessary to avoid fatigue. We’ve shown improvement with each game, and our rhythm is clearly rising.”
