Ramadan 2023: Taraweeh at Masjid-Al-Haram

Masjid al-Haram, located in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, is the largest mosque in the world and the most sacred site of Islam. As soon as the moon is sighted for Ramadan, Taraweeh prayers are held in Masjid al-Haram.

Ramadan is, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, considered the holiest month for Muslims. During this month, Muslims observe a fast from dawn until dusk and perform Taraweeh prayers, a particular form of congregational prayers.

Taraweeh takes place after the Isha prayer, and they consist of several sections of the Quran recited each night until the entire Quran is completed by the end of the month.
