The 11th Saudi Film Festival will take place from April 17 to 24, 2025, at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran. Organized by the Cinema Association in partnership with Ithra, the festival is also supported by the Film Commission of the Ministry of Culture.

This year’s theme, “Cinema of Identity,” aims to explore how films reflect and shape individual, national, and cultural identity. The festival will showcase a diverse selection of local and international films, offering perspectives on heritage, urban life, and personal experiences. Through these narratives, audiences will witness the challenges and transformations that shape identities in a globalized world.

Honoring a Saudi Cinema Icon

The festival will pay tribute to Ibrahim Al-Hasawi, a veteran Saudi actor who has contributed over thirty years to the country’s entertainment and film industry. His recognition highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing cinematic legacy and the talents driving its development.

Beyond Saudi cinema, the festival will feature a special program on independent Japanese films, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and expanding Saudi audiences’ cinematic exposure.

Competition & Film Submissions
